My New Year's Resolutions

Hello everyone, so today I am sharing my new year's resolutions (as you can tell by the title.) I am sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, I took a break from writing because I wanted to focus a little more on school. I don't want to make excuses, I am just telling you what I was doing.

1. Get to my goal weight.

I know that this resolution is the most popular one ever! I always make this resolution but with no real intention of losing weight. This year, I really want to get in better shape. If I can do something to make me happier, I will and so should you!

2. Drinking more water.

This one ties into losing weight so I won't go on about it. I just need to drink more water if I want to be healthier. Drinking water helps with your skin so that is an added bonus.

3. Get better in school.

I really want to achieve the grades that I want in school so I need to work hard. I don't want to be too serious, though. I think that being fun and serious is a good mixture.

4. Improve my content.

I really want to start putting up more posts that are to do with photography and maybe even cooking. Although, I don't cook so you will be lucky to find a recipe. I want to have amazing content, not something that is just 'ok'.

5. Start saving my money.

I never usually save my money, I always spend it. I need to save my money because I am always broke, ugh.

That is the end of this post, be sure to follow me on here and leave a comment. I hope you have an amazing new years, whether you are going out, or just staying in watching movies. (That is so what I will be doing!)What are your resolutions for next year and be sure to update me how you are doing?! Anyway, I hope you have a good one!

My Bucket List

There are so many things that I want to do before I die, some of these things are more serious than others. Also, I am not putting these in order so let's get straight into it!

1. Go to Greece and Thailand.

2. Go to Turkey.

3. Fit in to a size 8 or 10 again.

4. Own at least one Mac lipstick.

5. Experience a sunset or sunrise.

6. For a stranger to appreciate my photography.

7. Build my own house.

8. To buy a good camera.

9. Go to Disneyland.

10. Whiten my teeth.

11. Get another piercing in my ears.

12. To pass all of my GCSE's.

13. Put a lock on a love bridge.

14. Get a hot drink from Starbucks.

15. To make someone else happy.

Smile

A smile on someone's face can mean anything. Some people smile to get through pain but some people smile because they can, because they want their happiness to radiate from them.

I smile all of the time; anyone who knows me will tell you I am always either smiling or laughing. I can't stress enough how important I think smiling is. It may not seem like such a big deal to you but, if, for example, someone is having a bad day (for whatever reason) your smile could be that little push they need to get through the day. I don't know about you, but being the cause of someone's happiness- even if it's just for a second is the best feeling ever.

The moral of this very short message was to smile (in case you didn't already get that)! When you are feeling down, you would want a little smile to get you through the day! Keep in mind that that Queen B herself once said: 'A woman is most beautiful when she smiles' I love everyone that has read even a word from this blog, thank you.

Favourite YouTubers

This is a list of all of my favourite YouTubers, if you couldn't tell by the title. If you are ever bored and want to watch some new content, I suggest you subscribe to them. These are not in order because that would be too hard for me so here we go.

1. Gabriella Lindley (Gabby). I have mentioned Gabby before, anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with her. I love how she is not afraid to speak up about what she believes in. She makes beauty/fashion videos. As of right now, she has 693k subscribers but she deserves so much more!

2. The second YouTuber on my list is Eve Bennett. She is 15 and makes beauty/fashion videos too. She is so relatable to teenagers as she is one herself. I have only been watching her for a couple of months but she is in my favourites because I have grown to love her, A LOT! She has 64k subscribers and I honestly want her to have so many more subscribers because she is so cute!

3. Zoella (Zoe Sugg) has been a favourite of mine for years now. I love her content, she is so cute. I am pretty sure you know her because she has over 9 million subcribers. She deserves them all and more. Although her main channel videos are amazing, I have been going crazy for her vlogs! She is so down-to-earth and genuine. I love her so much!

4. Last but not least is Emily Canham (M). She is beautiful from the inside and out. Her videos always put me in the best mood ever. You can tell she loves makeup with a passion, she gets so happy when she talks about anything beauty related. She now has over 189k subscribers and I am so excited for her! She is so sweet and I love her a lot.

On A Serious Note

Okay, today Im going to be talking about something quite serious and sensitive for some people. It's a struggle that so many people have gone through alone and I just wanted to raise awareness for it. For anyone that is going through a rough time at the moment, just know that you are not alone. You can talk to me via any social media or through the comment section where you can share your stories. (If you are comfortable doing so)

Lately, my friend hasn't harmed herself in months and about a week ago, I saw slits down her arm. It breaks my heart seeing anyone doing something to harm themselves, it's hard seeing it on strangers, never mind our close friends. I do realize that it is a very sensitive subject for many people but I really want to make people more aware of it.

I never knew how true the phrase 'it's amazing what long sleeves and a fake smile can hide' was until now. To think that a piece of cloth is the the only thing preventing her from getting help is scary. As much as I want to tell someone about the cuts, I feel like I am being disloyal to her. I don't want to ask 'why?' or 'when?' but I can't help but let the questions float around in my head. I want to make aware of the fact that I know, just to tell her that she can talk to me if she needs to but then again, how do you do that without making the person feel uncomfortable?

I think that there is a lot of social pressure put in teens and young adults especially, it is so unnecessary that I cant even begin to describe. As much as we dont want to admit it, we have all sat there and thought about how we are socially percieved. That could be friends, family or just strangers you see on the street, it has gotten so bad that we look out to see who is judging us. (Well I know I do anyway!)

What I am trying to say is that at the end ofthe day, we need to learn to accept and love ourselves for who we are. I realise that it is easier said than done but if we just put in a little effort, I think we would all be a lot more happier.

By the way, I am sorry that these past few posts have been me ranting but I have recently had a lot of time to think so I thought that I would document my views and ideas Hopefully I will be doing some new posts to do with skincare and maybe food so get excited. Also, please give me some ideas of what you would like to read in the comments. Follow me on all of my social media, as always.

Judging

Is it just me or do you get afraid of people judging you? I mean, it literally plays in the back of my mind every time someone walks past. It is so annoying because half of the people were just going about their day. A little voice inside my head says 'she's looking at you' and I automatically think that they are judging me. I don't know whether that is because of my weight or the way I dress. All I know is that it is (hopefully) going away slowly. (Lets just hope it doesn't take to long.)

A wise person (not that wise, though) once told me 'people will judge you.' At first I thought, 'that was a bit rude and harsh' but I realised that I needed to hear that. The sad reality of life is that people will judge you for your flaws and your insecurities. But the one good thing that you get out of it is that you know who really loves you. The people that except you -the true you- are the ones that care. I just realised it now, as I write it down. I hope that one day I will look back and laugh at myself for being so sensitive.

I am so sorry that this is late and short but my internet decided not to work. I have been so stressed out and just wrote this up. This is something that I am very passionate about so I thought I would write about it. There also isn't a photo of the week because my phone isn't working. Technology has really let me down the last week. Anyway, after that rant, if you are still reading comment something below. Follow me:

Year 10

I'm going to be in year 10 next year, no this year. Let me start that again, I am going to be in year ten this September. Honestly, I don't know whether I am excited or terrified. Now I know that I am not in year 11 quite yet and that it gets worse then but I still don't know how to feel.
On the one hand, I am thrilled that I don't have to do Spanish anymore. Yeah, maybe I'm a bit too happy about that. Everyone that knows me knows that I hate Spanish, although, it wasn't the actual language, mainly the teacher. Also, I don't have to do food tech anymore. Thank goodness! I literally was the worst at cooking and baking but my sister has taken catering and loves it so maybe it was just me. Meh, I'm no too bothered. The thing about food tech is that I made the food look really good but in actual fact, no one could eat it. I am going to miss music because I loved that lesson but that is the only thing that I am going to miss. Everything else was really boring so yeah.
Saying that, I am still really scared because of the amount of work and pressure that is put on students. The realisation that I am going to be doing my GCSE's in two years is crazy. I get anxious just thinking about it, ugh. I am also nervous because I have never taken sociology before and I have no idea what is going to happen in that class. I don't even know my teacher for that lesson. It stresses me out so much even though I still have two years still.
I chose drama, sociology, French and history. I have already talked about sociology so I wont repeat myself. French, I am really excited for because I love the language and pronunciation. The sounds are so different from English and I think that's why I find it so interesting. Despite the fact that I love it, I know that it is very difficult to pick up all of the different words.
I am terrified for history, I like it and all but I just think that my opinion has changed on it this past year. The topics that we covered weren't very gripping like they were before.
Drama I am over the moon about. I had never thought that my parents would ever let me choose it because let's face it, it isn't the most academic subject in the world. That being said, I am ecstatic that I have chosen it.
Comment below if you feel my pain. As always, follow me on here if you want to hear my first impressions on year 10 in the next couple of weeks. Also, my links are:

Non-Beauty Summer Favourites

Today I wanted to talk about what I have been loving in summer. (I wanted to do a non-beauty favourites blog post because I always see beauty favourites so yeah.) So firstly I'm going to talk about music and what genres I have been loving. Broadway is always something that I have enjoyed but I have just been loving it even more recently. The one song that I have not stopped singing is 'defying gravity' from the musical Wicked. I imagine myself on stage and really get into the characters, it is to funny to watch. Also, a singer in particular that I am loving is Tori Kelly, she honestly has one of the best vocals in history. The lyrics to her song 'unbreakable smile' are amazing and I so recommend that you all go and listen to it. (Credits to my sister for showing me the song)

I also have been loving dancing , now I usually don't dance because I know for a fact that I am bad at it. I don't really care, though because I don't do it professionally, just in front of my sisters.Yeah, dance isn't my forte. I do like contemporary improvisation, though. I have started a new dance to Lucy Hale's 'Loved'. It's musical theater, lets just hope it goes well. Dance is also a very good exercise so that is always a bonus. 'Elastic Heart' by Sia is my go-to song for lyrical dances, generally but any slow song will do really.

Fruit/vegetable infused water has been my number one drink this summer. I love just putting some fresh mint leaves in my water and leaving it overnight. That is my absolute favourite but I love cucumber in my cup too. People usually put fruit in their water but I just eat fruit by itself so I tend to use veggies. To throw in another recipe for you, I am in love with banana milkshakes. I always have a milkshake when we have bananas in the house. Just whack in a banana for each person, add some milk and blend (I know that isn't an actual recipe but you can guess the measurements, right?) It may not be grand recipe but it works for me.

The website/app that has been my favourite through summer is YouTube. While everyone else in the whole of England was out and about this summer, I was sat at home watching YouTube videos. I loved it though, between Zoe, Gabby and the others, I never stopped laughing.I normally don't have favourites but Gabby is my idol. I can't actually express how much I love her in words so I won't try. All you need to know is that I love her to death and if she reads this,(I know she isn't but I can only dream) I LOVE YOU!!!

So yeah, they were my non beauty favourites, I know that this was really random but I just wanted to do it. They were the only things I could think of really. Comment below telling me what your favourite things this summer were. If there is any constructive criticism you have for me, leave it in the comments. My first blog

Hi whoever is reading this! (Although I don't really know how you stumbled upon this page) My name is Leena welcome to my blog. Thanks for checking it out, this is my first blog post so be easy on me. So here are some things about me so you can get to know me a bit better:

To say that I like photography would be an understatement. I love it. I just think that capturing a moment at its finest, is somehow magical. Creating a memory is one thing but having it in a frame is another. For more photography, follow me on Instagram:
@leena_elharm (Shameless self promo for you)

I love making people laugh with witty one liners although they don't work all of the time. It's the thought that counts here, right? Just seeing a smile on someone's face and thinking ' I caused that smile' makes me beam with joy. If someone is having a bad day, I make it my mission to make them smile.

I wish that I could say I am this tumblr obsessed girl that has all of these 'hip' ideas but I am not that great. In reality, I am just a normal teenager that has wanted to start a blog for ages but never had the guts to post anything. I got bored over the summer and decided to make this blog.

I think I want to post every couple of days but I know how hard it is to be on top of everything so I can't make any promises. I like writing mini-posts to keep things interesting too. I don't even know where I want this blog to go, I am just going to stick to what I know and love. Photography, natural skincare and some beauty bits. (I am not a beauty guru AT ALL!!! I just like some beauty bits and bobs like nail polish etc.)
Don't forget to follow me on all of my social media and especially here. As I said, I am new here so leave me a comment telling me what you thought. I want to know if anyone is reading or if I am just writing to myself.

        -Thanks, Leena :)
